King Track and Field Season - Looking for Cobra Athletes!

Coach Brian Viola is looking for some Cobras ready and willing to train for the upcoming Track and Field season. Track and Field includes sprints, long-distance running, jumps (long jump, high jump), shotput and relay races.  Sign-ups will be from March 19-23, practice begins on March 27, and the track meet will be on April 21. So lace up those shoes and go for the gold!

King Cares! Shoebox for Homeless

"Shoebox for Homeless" was an Advisory class project. Students and teachers pitched in to make this community service project a success for all! Great job Cobras!

71 beautifully decorated boxes were donated to Kaneohe Community Family Center for distribution to Windward agencies that work with homeless individuals and families.

The Challenge was On! Staff vs. Student Basketball Game

The students roared as the Cobra Basketball team ended their season with the annual Staff vs. Students Basketball game. It was a real game with both sides giving it their best.  The teachers were definitely competitive and were not going to be out played by their students.

The teachers did prevail and won the game.

Pacific Buddhist Academy - Application Packets and Scholarship Contest Info Available

Pacific Buddhist Academy (PBA) teachers academically challenge and personally and spiritually nurture each student in order to develop leaders who work effectively and compassionately with others. PBA is a standards-based learning environment where a Buddhist approach to peace is integrated into all classes and activities. An average class size of 18:1 allows teachers to provide personalized instruction. Students learn through a process of collaborative, active engagement, critical examination of ideas and reflective self-discovery.

Fully WASC/HAIS accredited, PBA is an independent college preparatory high school located right outside downtown Honolulu, and part of a coordinated system of Buddhist education, pre-kindergarten through grade 12. Applicants are not required to be or expected to become Buddhists, as we welcome students of all beliefs and religious backgrounds.

Also available is  information on a scholarship essay contest (for tuition assistance) for new students entering PBA in the fall of 2012.
